Lynette Denice Abernathy

A memorial service for Lynette Denice Abernathy of Rusk, is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Donny Sadler will officiate.

Denice passed away on May 30, 2021. She was born in Bakersfield, CA on September 10, 1963, to Ronald Myers and Royceston Sue Boatman. Lynette retired from Rusk State Hospital. She found joy in being home, watching TV and taking naps. Denice also enjoyed going and watching softball games. She truly loved to cook especially her delicious chicken and dumplings.

She was preceded in death by both her parents.

Left to cherish Lynette’s memory are her husband, Mike Abernathy of Rusk; sons, Jereme Hubbard and wife Tiffany of Tyler, Josh Hubbard and wife Cassie of Rusk; daughters, Casey Abernathy and husband Joshua Glover of Jacksonville and Emma Abernathy of Rusk. Her siblings are Karie Bolton of OK, Jason Myers and wife Ronda of Rusk and James Mason and wife Katie of Rusk. She is also survived by her grandchildren Sydney, Landrey, Luke, Kobyn, Kendalynn, Jet and another on the way; her furbaby, Max; her grand-dog, Ollie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
