Johnie Jones
Gallatin - A funeral service for Johnie (Evans) Jones, of Gallatin, is scheduled at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Visitation will begin an hour before the service. Pastor Jack White, Pastor Carrol Wayne Jones and Pastor Robin Parsons will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery in Gallatin.
Johnie passed away on May 14, 2021. She was born in Turney, Texas on December 2, 1923 to John and Mary (Stevens) Evans. She was a member of Gallatin Missionary Baptist Church. Johnie attended Kilgore College where she became a Dietitian. She worked as the Dietary Supervisor for Town Hall Nursing Home. Johnie was a great cook and was known for her poke salad and Nanny soup.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Dewey Jones; son, Jerry Jones; daughter, Sandra Williams; four sisters and one brother.
Left to cherish Johnie’s memory are her sons, Bob Jones and wife Joyce and Larry Jones and wife Bobby Jean all of Gallatin; and daughter-in-law, Linda Jones of Reklaw. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, Kevin Jones and wife Melissa, Jennifer Wilcox and husband Rick, Eric Jones, Tanya Helm and husband Brian, Melissa Wood and husband Casey, Tim Jones and wife Rebecca, Mike Jones and wife Rhonda, Pam Dixon and husband Malcom, Lisa Cox, Stevie Jones, Robby Jones and wife Christy, Billy Graves and wife Terrie and Ben Graves and wife Valerie; 27 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The grandsons will be serving as pallbearers and the great-grandsons will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
