A funeral service for Ray Barringer of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2021 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Tony Smith of Rendon Church of Christ, Burleson, Texas, will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Ray passed away at home on May 13, 2021. He was born in Paragould, Arkansas on January 7, 1945 to Roscoe and Edna Faye (Gambill) Barringer.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Jacksonville Lodge 108. Ray was raised in Texarkana, Texas, where he owned and operated Ray Barringer Trucking, hauling cattle for Coleman Cattle. He came to Jacksonville to work at Holman Cattle Company and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish Ray’s memory are his beloved wife, Bonnie Sampson Barringer of Jacksonville; son, J.B. Barringer and wife Jamie of Jacksonville; and brothers, Ronnie Barringer of Sunset, Texas, Stuart Barringer and wife Wanda of Oklahoma City, OK and Roger Barringer and wife Debra of Mesquite, TX. He also survived by his grandchildren Hannah Dement and husband Ryan, Jayden Smith and Jace Barringer; one great-grandson Case Lane Dement born 05/14/2021; and several loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Holman, Keith Norton, Lance Crisp, Steve Slack, Joe Carranza and Steve Finney. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Dickerson and Charlie Graham.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care.
