Mary Evelyn Irby

A funeral service for Mary E. Irby of Rusk is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Walker Chapel Cemetery in Reklaw.

Mrs. Mary Irby entered eternal life on April 22, 2021. She was born in Rusk on July 3, 1928 to Stebert and Alma (Woodard) House. Mary loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and enjoyed her time playing with them. She also found much joy in gardening and sewing and liked watching Westerns on T.V. Mary will be missed very much by her nursing home family who grew fond of her and her stories she would tell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Sidney Dewey Stafford; husband, Jesse W. Irby; sons, Dewey Lynn Stafford and Roger Dale Stafford; siblings, Bobby House and Eveldean Clay; and grandsons, Nathan Sidney Stafford and Jesse Lee Irby.

Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her children, Larry G. Stafford, Rebecca Cummins and husband Wayne and Dennis K. Irby, all of Rusk; and numerous beloved grandchildren.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
