Marlin L. Pitman, Sr.

Funeral Services for Marlin L. Pitman Sr., 79, of Rusk will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Raymond Vermillion officiating.

Mr. Pitman passed away with family present on March 12, 2021. He was born in Rusk County, Texas, on January 22, 1942 to the late Henry and Nellie Pitman. His family was everything to him. He spent time coon hunting, then later he enjoyed squirrel and deer hunting. He spent much time on the river fishing and time in his garden; he grew lots of vegetables.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, William F. and Daisy Phillips; sisters, Mary Loftin, Doris Bailey, Bettie Birdwell; and brothers, James Pitman, and Arlie Pitman.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beatrice Pitman of Rusk; son, Marlin Pitman Jr. of Rusk; grandson, Justin Pitman of Rusk; sister, May Mitchell of Palestine; sisters and brothers-in-law, Johnny and Judy Penney of Laneville, Jenny Lou and Jackie Nichols of Cushing; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Lana Pitman of Cushing, Joe Allen and Julie Pitman of Nacogdoches; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the funeral home.
