RISD trustees to consider joint election agreement with city

RUSK – Local school board members are preparing for a May 1 trustee election as they consider a joint election agreement with the City of Rusk during a 6 p.m. Zoom meeting Monday, Feb. 8, at the district training center, at 199 Eagle Dr.

In a separate, but related action, trustees will call the May 1 election, according to a school board agenda.

In other action, the board will consider:

• Innovative course offerings for Rusk ISD

• Approval of a Construction Manager at Risk as the preferred construction method for the district’s athletic facilities renovation and construction project

• Approval of selection criteria for the Construction Manager at Risk

• Approval of Request for Qualifications (RFQ) proposal guidelines for the district’s athletic facilities renovation and construction project

The board is scheduled to meet in executive session Monday; action, if any, will be taken when trustees resume into open session, as per Texas Government Code.
