Patricia Ann Ball

On December 19, 2020, my mom and Patrick and Katy’s Trish left this earth to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Tompkins of Brownsboro, Texas, her youngest son Kelley Douglas Ball, and nine out of ten of her brothers and sisters. She was born September 26, 1933 in Brownsboro where she lived and went to school. She left Brownsboro and moved to Dallas to attend nursing school at Methodist Hospital. Then after finishing nursing school she taught nurse technician training for Henderson County Junior College and then worked as Assistant Director of Nursing at Rusk State Hospital for over 20 years. She then retired in 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rusk where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was an avid Rusk Eagle fan and cheered for her two sons, her grandson, and bonus granddaughter. She is survived by her son Jack Tompkins Ball of Rusk; her grandson Patrick Douglas Ball of Rusk, and bonus granddaughter Katy Stover and husband Cord; and son Lane all of Rusk; and brother Jack Tompkins and wife Jan of Palmer, Texas. Also, extended family Vicki and David Beard and their family.
