JILL MARIE PEGUES

Funeral services for Jill Marie Pegues, 62, of Alto were held Tuesday, October 27, at the Alto Missionary Baptist Church at 2 PM with Bro. Bruce Robinson officiating. Burial was at the Shiloh Cemetery near Alto. Jill passed away Saturday, October 24 in Rusk. She was born June 15, 1958 in Jacinto City, Texas to A.C. Dover and Dorothy Marie Helm Dover. Jill had lived in Alto for the last 34 years and had also lived in Crosby and Dayton Texas. She had been a member of the A. Frank Smith Methodist Church and more recently, the Alto Missionary Baptist Church. Jill had worked at Alto Elementary School as an aide and in children’s day care. She loved antiques and going to garage sales. Jill was preceded in death by daughter Jessica Bell, son Benjamin Mayfield, husband Stanley Mayfield, her parents and numerous aunts and uncles. She is survived by husband Wayne Pegues of Alto, sons Kevin Pegues and wife Lauren of Richmond and Robin Pegues and wife Christy of Jacksonville, daughter Sarah Naron and husband J.C. of Alto, brothers Jack Dover (Sharon), Eddie Dover (Lisa) and Dennis Dover (Sherri), sisters Jan Swain (Wayne), Carol Heagy and Sandra Gowdy (Lane), grandchildren Asher Pegues, Avery Pegues, Carter Pegues, Keira Pegues and Jessica Naron as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Kevin Pegues, Robin Pegues, Asher Pegues, Brian Sessions, Stanley Dover and Clinton Dover. Honorary pallbearers are Carter Pegues, J.C. Naron and Buzz Elsberry.
