County sets Nov. 3 polling places

CHEROKEE COUNTY – A number of polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 for the November 2020 election in Cherokee County.

Locations include:

• Precinct 12 – Gallatin Community Center, 626 S. Chandler St., Gallatin

• Precinct 13 – Rocky Springs Baptist Church, 653 FM 1910 West, Jacksonville

• Precinct 14 – Craft Baptist Church, CR 1616 (just off U.S. Highway 69), Jacksonville

• Precinct 15 – First Christian Church, 1920 Beaumont St., Jacksonville

• Precinct 22 – Shady Grove Church of Christ, 471 FM 2962 South, Rusk

• Precinct 23 – Salem Baptist Church, 1500 FM 241 South, Rusk

• Precinct 24 – Singletary Memorial/Rusk Public Library, 207 E. 6th St., Rusk

• Precinct 25 – (Wells) The River Church, 264 Rusk Ave., Wells

• Precinct 26 – (Alto) The River Church, 595 Marcus St. (U.S. Highway 69), Alto

• Precinct 27 – Stella Hill Memorial Library, 200 San Antonio Rd., Alto

• Precinct 28 – Maranatha Community Worship Center, 214 CR 2131, Maydelle

• Precinct 32 – Mount Selman Methodist Church, 135 CR 3701, Bullard

• Precinct 36 – New Hope Baptist Church, 12580 FM 747 South, Jacksonville

• Precinct 38 – Jacksonville College Theater, 215 Kickapoo St., Jacksonville

• Precinct 42 – North Bolton Street Christian Church, 702 N. Bolton St., Jacksonville

• Precinct 43 – Norman Activity Center, 526 E. Commerce St., Jacksonville

• Precinct 44 – Afton Grove Baptist Church, 360 CR 4208, Jacksonville

• Precinct 45 – New Summerfield First Baptist Church, 201 Church St., New Summerfield

• Precinct 46 – Blackjack Baptist Church, 18214 Texas Highway 110 North, Blackjack

• Precinct 47 – First Baptist Church, 7282 Texas Hwy 110 North, Ponta

• Precinct 48 – Concord-Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 212 County Road 4705, Concord

Cherokee County Elections Administrator Shannon Cornelius reminds residents that:

• Voters MUST cast their ballot at assigned polling places on Election Day

• Voters need to bring along photo ID, which is required for voting by state law. Visit www.sos.state.tx.us for a list of approved forms of photo ID.

Meanwhile, early voting polls are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28-30. Residents can cast a ballot at any of the three polling places within Cherokee County: At the Cherokee County Election Department, 138 W. 5th St. in Rusk; The River Church at 595 Marcus St. in Alto; or at the Norman Activity Center, 526 E. Commerce St. in Jacksonville.

The Cherokeean Herald will publish election results on Wednesday, Nov. 11, as results will not be available for print by the Cherokeean’s press deadline. They will, however, be posted online as soon as results are in.
