A funeral service for Lydia Allene Wagner, age 89, of Rusk is scheduled for 2p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Rusk, Texas, with the Rev. Clint Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Pierces Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wagner passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020, in Rusk. She was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Rusk to the late Chester and Maudie George. Mrs. Wagner was retired from Rusk State Hospital and was Lutheran by faith. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and she enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, camping and horse racing.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Troy Ferguson, William Maburn and Grady and Alford George; sister, Vernie Mae George; husbands, Roland Maness and George Wagner; son, Don Maness; grandson, Cody Berry; great-grandson, Gage Lankford; and sons-in-law, Buddy Mason, Hoss Jones, Bo Berry and Steve Conway.
She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Kay Mason of Alto, Texas, Jan Berry of Maydelle, Texas, and Pamela and David Grimes of Rusk; daughter-in-law, Tammy Maness of Rusk; grandchildren, Stacy Johnson and husband Clint of Alto, Brian Mason and wife Sheila of Rusk, Donald Lankford and wife Lindsey of Rusk, Jason Jones of Jacksonville, Texas, Janna Kirby of Maydelle, Tina Callaway and husband Shane of Henderson, Texas, Phillip Grimes of Rusk, Jeremy Grimes of Rusk and Katie Nielsen of Rusk; and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Mickey Emanuel, Phillip Grimes, Jason Jones, Troy Johnson, Donald Lankford, Brian Mason and Mason Needham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Grimes, Dakota Grimes, Peyton Rodriguez, Branton Rodriguez, Brendan Grimes and Shane Callaway.
