Tree of Promise's school supply going on today through 3 p.m.

(Aug. 11, 2020) The Tree of Promise's annual Back to School backpack giveaway is going on now through 3 p.m., at the Rusk Church of Christ's main parking lot, 397 S. Main St., Rusk.

The event was originally scheduled to take place Aug. 12, but due to a scheduling conflict, even organizers moved the school supply distribution up.

"It's still a drive through giveaway," Tree of Promise Director Pat Hardy said. "Everyone will be required to stay in their vehicles and pull up to the covered drive where supplies will be handed out on a first come, first served basis. We will have supplies and backpacks for PK3 through eighth grade. We will have a binder with paper and pencils/pens for high school. These supplies are only available for students of Rusk ISD."
