Rusk Rural WSC lifts boil water notice

by From Rusk Rural WSC

Effective 3:30 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2020, Rusk Rural Water Supply Corporation has rescinded its recent boil water notice for customers in the Sardis Community on FM 1857, CR 2215, CR 2217, CR 2218, CR 2219, CR 2220 and CR 2225.

On May 20, 2020, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required Rusk Rural WSC to issue the notice to inform customers that due to the presence of contaminants or an interruption in service, water from the system must be boiled prior to consumption.

"Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and /or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling," WSC officials state.
