Lee Roy Sessions, 66, of Ponta, walked into the arms of his Savior, on Sunday morning, March 22.

His faith and infectious smile never wavered during his yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by daughter, Misty Gentles. He is survived by his loving wife Sue; sons, Ben Terry and wife Tonja, Pete Terry and wife Judy; daughter, Carentha; sisters, Margaret McKinley, Mary Martin and Eva Rocha; brothers, Pete Sessions and Donald Guinn; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lee Roy was born in Ponta, on Dec. 22, 1953. A lifelong resident of Cherokee County, he and Sue operated the local favorite, Diamond S Farms produce stand in Ponta, for many years together. Lee Roy was married to Sue for 45 years and they loved to fish and farm together.

Lee Roy was very wealthy in friendships, faith and family. His calling in life was to serve and give to others without an expectation of recognition or reciprocation. He also served his community church, Ponta Baptist, for many years as an ordained deacon.

Due to current health concerns, a memorial service for Mr. Sessions will be scheduled and announced after gathering restrictions are lifted.
