Ben Ellis for Cherokee County Sheriff

February 26, 2020

Hello, my name is Ben Ellis and I am running for Sheriff of Cherokee County. I was born in Jacksonville, grew up in Mt Selman, attended school in Bullard, and currently live in Mixon. I have always tried to help others and done my best to put others’ needs before my own. From my days cutting hay, working at Wal-Mart, Heath and Heath, or Discount City, I’ve always helped others. I started working in law-enforcement in 1999 at the Cherokee County jail. After graduation, from the Kilgore Police Academy, I served as a deputy constable in Smith County. A few years later, I began working on pipelines. In 2010 I went back to school and finished my Criminal Justice Degree. I also became an EMT and have been working saving lives on an ambulance for almost six years. I currently work for PRMC EMS and as a firefighter/EMT on locations in the oilfield. I want to help make our county safer—not only for the citizens who live here, but the deputies that patrol our streets. That is why I am running for Sheriff, Cherokee County. I would appreciate your vote on March 3.
