A funeral mass for Apolinar Gonzalez Hernandez, 92, is scheduled 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Jay Lucas officiating. He will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Apolinar was born July 23, 1930 and entered eternal life on August 3, 2022. He enjoyed working in his garden, working the land as an agriculturist farming crops, and taking care of his animals. He was a man of very few words but firm with all his decisions. He was an honorable, humble, stern, and wise man that all looked up too. He was loved by all and cared for all. Apolinar had a kind heart and loved being around his family all his grandkids and great grandkids. He will be missed but not forgotten, always and forever in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Saturnino and Librada (Hernandez) Gonzalez, his brothers, Rogelio Gonzalez, Benito Gonzalez, Florentino Gonzalez, and Guillermo Gonzalez, and his sisters, Pascuala Gonzalez and Maria Gonzalez.

Left to cherish Apolinar’s memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Arcadia Gonzalez, his children, Demetrio Gonzalez and wife Gloria, Artemio Gonzalez and wife Rebecca, Carina Loredo and husband Jacobo, Hermelando Gonzalez, and Homero Gonzalez and wife Irma. His siblings are Ezequil Gonzalez, Espedita Gonzalez, Jacobo Gonzalez, Fausto Gonzalez, and Fransisca Gonzalez. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Alfonso Gonzalez and wife Christina, Demetrio Gonzalez Jr. and wife Siara, Artemio Gonzalez Jr., Karina Gonzalez, Edgar Gonzalez and wife Alejandra, Vanessa Sanchez and husband Isaac, Apolinar Loredo and wife Kailla, Cristyan Loredo, Victor Loredo, Ruth Loredo, Dianne Loredo, Kelly Loredo, Yaneici Gonzalez, Daisy Gonzalez, and Cesar Gonzalez; 18 great grandchildren, Aviana Gonzalez, Eli Gonzalez, Diego Gonzalez, Neomi Gonzalez, Demetrio Gonzalez, Nathalia Gonzalez, Nea Gonzalez, Nhayeli Gonzalez, Parker Loredo, Alannah Loredo, Riley Loredo, Ethan Gonzalez, Nathaniel Gonzalez, Gabriela Gonzalez, Charity Ambrose, Colby Ambrose, Khaliyah Price, and Kamilah Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews in Mexico and the United States.

Pallbearers will be Demetrio Gonzalez, Artemio Gonzalez, Hermelando Gonzalez, Homero Gonzalez, Jacobo Loredo, and Sidronio Gonzalez.
