Doug Gowin

A funeral service for Doug Gowin, age 75, is scheduled at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. Rev. Doug Wintermute will officiate. A visitation will begin 1:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Jarratt Cemetery.

Doug was born on December 17, 1946 and passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Gerry Stovall.

Left to cherish Doug’s memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Jan Gowin of Jacksonville; and his sons, Rob Gowin of Jacksonville, Brian Gowin and wife Lori of Lufkin and Toby Gowin and wife Niki of Jacksonville. He is also survived by his sister, Debra Hood; brother-in-law, Robert Sadler and wife Sheila and sister-in-law, Susan May, all of Jacksonville. His grandchildren are Sylvie, Claire, Jaeger, Greenlee; and nieces and nephews Erin, Ryan, Kirk, Kaitlen, Colleen, Janna and Kenneth.

Pallbearers will be Rob Beall, Todd Terry, Craig Teer, Jeff Graham, Jaeger Gowin and Robert Sadler. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Finley, Kirk Sadler, Larry Smith, David Westbrook and Members of Phillips Slough.
