Alto – A Rosary service followed by a Catholic Mass for Manuela Hernandez De Soto, 70, of Alto will be Thursday at 12:30 PM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Rusk with Father George Dinguis officiating. Burial will be in the Old Palestine Cemetery near Alto following the Mass. Manuela passed away Tuesday, April 12 in Alto, Texas. She was born June 24, 1951 in Francisco Madero, Durango, Mexico to Apolinar Hernandez Soriano and Maria Pilar Mora. She lived most of her life in Mexico and had lived in Alto for 23 years. Manuela was a homemaker and had also worked as a nursing aide while in Mexico. She loved cooking, flowers, making wreaths and sewing. She was passionate about the Virgin Mary and her family was her life.

She was preceded in death by husband Luciano Soto Aguilar; sisters Agustina Hernandez Mora and Candelaria Hernandez Mora; and brothers Tirzo Hernandez Mora and Leopoldo Hernandez Mora.

Manuela is survived by her children Juan Ruperto Soto, Anita Soto and husband Pablo, Rocio Diaz and husband David, Lupe Soto and wife Candy, Luciano Soto and wife Chrystal, Daniela Vazquez and husband Oscar, Jose Soto and Nina Soto and husband Antonio; sisters Maria del Pilar Hernandez Mora, Ma. Olga Hernandez Mora, Ma. De Jesus Hernandez Mora and Magdalena Hernandez Mora; brother Fidel Hernandez Mora; 32 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steven Soto, Emilio Soto, Gerardo Guevara, Jorge Soto, Victor Vazquez and Yahir Vazquez. Honorary pallbearers are Lupe Soto, Luciano Soto, Jose Soto, Juan Soto, Oscar Vazquez, David Diaz, Pablo Morales and Antonio Vazquez.
