Holiday closures

Numerous entities in Cherokee County have posted their holiday closing schedules.

Public school programs in Alto, Jacksonville, New Summerfield, Rusk, Troup and Wells will be closed from Dec. 20-31 for their Christmas break, with various return dates.

BMA Theological Seminary in Jacksonville concluded the fall term on Dec. 10, with the Spring semester beginning Jan. 24, while Jacksonville College’s December graduation is slated for Dec. 10. The new semester begins in January.

The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail or packages on Dec. 25.

Cuney city offices are closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Cherokee County offices and municipal offices in Jacksonville, New Summerfield and Reklaw are closed Dec. 23-24 and Dec. 31.

Alto municipal offices close at noon, Dec. 23 and re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 28. They will be closed on New Year’s Eve.

In Rusk, municipal offices are closed Dec. 24, Dec. 27 and Dec. 31.

Wells’ city offices are closed Dec. 24-27 and Jan. 3.

The Cherokeean Herald offices are closed Dec. 23-24 and Dec. 31.
