Deborah Kay Chandler

Visitation for Deborah Kay Chandler, age 65, of Lake Striker is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Chandler passed away November 28, 2021. She was born October 12, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico to the late Edward and Marilyn Higgins Carlile. Mrs. Chandler was a lifelong resident of Rusk and graduated from Rusk High School in 1974 and from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree. She worked as a substitute teacher at Rusk High School, was a member of the Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Marilyn Carlile; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sammy and Earlene Chandler. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Chandler of Lake Striker; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Amanda Chandler of Rusk; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and David Walley of Rusk; six grandchildren including Olivia, Kaylee, Courtney, Kenzy, Lance and Brittney; sister, Cynthia Wynn of Chandler, TX and numerous niece and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will include George Bostock, Joe Bostock, Bailey Mott, Jimmy Walley, Michael Hobson and Oley Willis.
