Holiday feast

Members of Jacksonville’s Peoples Church, A Father’s Love and the Fred Douglass Community Development Corporation, Inc., joined together to purchase fixings for free Thanks-giving meal baskets that were created at the church, then taken Saturday to The Clothes Closet & More in downtown Jacksonville for distribution. Baskets included “The Bible Prom-ise Book,” while volunteers prayed over recipients. The holiday food ministry began years ago, according to Clothes Closet director Mickey Gear.
