Commissioners’ Court to see if redistricting required for precincts

RUSK – Cherokee County Commissioners’ Court will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, to assess whether redistricting is required for commissioner precincts, based on the new 2020 Census data, then consider adoption of redistricting criteria for new plans, along with guidelines for public participation in the redistricting process.

Tuesday’s meeting agenda also includes the consideration of approval of a DSHS grant for Cherokee County Public Health, approval of a second renewal contract for SAVNS, approval of special budgets as required by law and approval of Julianna Peacock to the Neches & Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District.

Other agenda items include approval of laying utility lines in each precinct (if necessary), approval of a consent agenda and a presentation of a check from NETRMA for Cherokee County Airport expansion.
