RUSK – Fundraising efforts continue in Rusk, to help defray medical costs incurred by Fire Chief Donald Lankford who was diagnosed earlier this summer with COVID-19.

A food truck at Eagles Den – located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and State Highway 84 – will be offering barbecue sandwiches, chips and water beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

James Sanchez, Paul Patterson, Jody Gray, Jimmy Isaacs and Murphy Milligan will prepare and serve the food, for the cost of a donation.

Additionally, Sanchez said, different items will be auctioned during the fundraiser, which lasts until the food runs out.

In the event of rain, the food truck will be located at the car wash next to Texas National Bank, he said.

Meanwhile, All Aboard Nutrition has created a special blend called The Lindsey Loaded Tea, from which a portion of the proceeds will benefit Chief Lankford and his family.

The store is located at 589 N. Main St. in Rusk.
