JISD to consider superintendent’s pending departure

by Staff reports

Jacksonville ISD trustees will mull a voluntary separation agreement and release between the district and its superintendent, Dr. Chad Kelly, during a 5:30 p.m. meeting, Thursday, Feb. 25, at the JISD administration building, 800 College Ave.

Kelly was hired in 2015 as superintendent.

The board will first meet in closed session, where it also will discuss the possible appointment of an interim superintendent, the hire of a new principal for the Compass center, professional personnel and legal matters, student discipline and real property.

Action, if any, will be taken when trustees convene into open session, as per Texas Government Code.

Other action items on the meeting agenda include moving the March 2021 regular board meeting to March 29 and approval of a consent agenda comprised of meeting minutes and various departmental reports.

Due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 coronavirus, the meeting will be conducted by videoconference, streamed live at www.youtube.com/channel/UCyxXml6aKjzOiWRcSbrDCZQ as well as posted on the district’s Facebook page.
