Sherry Elizabeth Lasater

A graveside service for Sherry Elizabeth Lasater, age 71, of Rusk is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Sacul Cemetery with Rev. Paul Gates officiating.

Ms. Lasater passed away November 27, in Tyler. She was born September 15, 1949 in Alice, TX. Ms. Lasater was a resident of Rusk for 3 years formerly of Colorado. She was a loving member of the First Apostolic Church in Dialville and loved her church family. She also made some great and wonderful friends in Rusk. She was well known as “Grammy” by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Lee Lasater, mother, Sadie Marie Shy and a brother, John Henry Hunt. She is survived a son a daughter-in-law, David and Sonya Alexander of Sacul, daughter and son-in-law, Renee and James Michael Bolt of Colorado, son, Jay Alexander of Conroe, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Lenee and Alvin Dedeaux of Austin, TX, daughter, Melissa Alexander of Austin, son, Michael Alexander and fiancée Angela; five brothers and sisters including Mary Nell Dugan, Luther Lasater, Donna Smith, Monte Shy and Joe Shy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Trent Knott, Kenneth Gates, Timmy Joe Langston, Mickey Gates, Ricky Scales and Anthony Munsinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Casey Gates and Kelly Gates. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Wallace Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk.
