NOV. 19

Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution at First United Methodist Church, 1031 SE Loop 456, Jacksonville, 9:30 to 11:30 am. Available for distribution will be 500 boxes.

NOV. 22

A free community Thanksgiving lunch will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 558 N. Main St. in Jacksonville. The meal is sponsored by St. Paul’s, Cowboy Church Fellowship and Sylvia Mae’s Soul Food. To volunteer, contact Jamie Slovacek, 903-520-4746.

The Rusk Ministerial Alliance will host its annual community Thanksgiving service, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at First Baptist Church of Rusk, 372 E. 4th St. Dr. T.J. Gabelman, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Rusk, will be the guest speaker. An offering will be collected, benefitting a variety of programs and scholarships for local residents. Contributions also may be sent to RMA, PO Box 64, Rusk TX 75785. A traditional after-service fellowship will not be held due to COVID-19 concerns.

Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto is having a Community Thanksgiving dinner, Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Dine in, or take a plate to go!

NOV. 26

A free community Thanksgiving Day lunch, sponsored by St. Paul Baptist Church, Cowboy Church Fellowship and Sylvia Mae’s Soul Food, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, at St. Paul’s, 558 N. DEC. 6

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 6, Children’s Ministry will be held during an 11 a.m. worship service at First United Methodist Church – Rusk. Youths ages 3-12 are invited. The church is located at 255 S. Henderson St.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Mission will host a tamale sale the weekend of Dec. 19-20. Preorder tamales to ensure delivery. Contact the church office for more information, 903-683-1862.

A Blue Christmas Service begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Rusk’s First Methodist Church. A blue Christmas Service is a service for those who are carrying pain, hurt or loss during the holiday season. The church is located at 255 S. Henderson St. In Rusk
