James E. Hooks

James E. Hooks born November 5, 1947 and entered eternal life October 30, 2020. He was 72 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Rusk. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Bro. Brian Givens will officiate. He will be laid to rest in Salem Cemetery in Rusk.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rusk. James loved to travel. He enjoyed watching Port Neches Groves Football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Cleo Hooks.
James is survived by his wife Carolyn Hooks of 51 years of Rusk; sons, Jay Hooks of Rusk and Steven Hooks and wife Melanie of Manor. He is also survived by his brother Vernon Hooks of Port Neches; and his grandchildren Kayla, Heidi, Addie, Farrah, Joshua and Melody.

Pallbearers are James Campbell, Larry Sinclair, Ken Jones, Glenn Cotton, Clay Robinson and Justin Robinson.
