Nov. 5 town hall meeting to address lake issues

JACKSONVILLE – A town hall meeting hosted by the City of Jacksonville will address several issues related to Lake Jacksonville.

During the meeting – slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Norman Activity Center, 526 E. Commerce St. – residents are invited to make public comment on the following topics:

• A Texas Boating Access Grant awarded this year to the city

• Improvements to Lake Jacksonville’s concession stand, beach, swimming areas, existing boat ramp and other areas

• Disposition and future use of land owned by the City of Jacksonville adjacent to the dam, described by the Cherokee County Appraisal District as “Kiwanis Public Area South Shore.”

The public also may submit comments in writing by 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, to comments@jacksonvilletx.org. All relevant comments will be shared with the Jacksonville City Council.

No action will be taken on any city business, according to a meeting agenda.
