Martha Redd Durham Creel

Graveside funeral services for Martha Redd Durham Creel, 87, of Alto, will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at the Pollok Cemetery near Wells, Texas. A visitation will precede the service from 1-2 p.m., also at the cemetery. Services are under the direction of O.T. Allen Funeral Home-Alto. Mrs. Creel passed away Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, in Wells, Texas. She was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Lufkin, Texas, to Joseph Clayton Redd and Adelle Munson Redd. Martha lived in Alto for many years and was a member of the Pollok Baptist Church. She had worked as a cashier for Brookshires and enjoyed sewing, quilting and raising her children.

She was preceded in death by husband, W.E. “Buddy” Creel; sons, Jimmy Creel, James Creel and infant son, Clayton Creel; and brother, J.B. Redd. Martha is survived by daughter, Betty Jackson of Jacksonville, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, George and Sharon Creel of Overton, Texas, Robert Creel of Rusk, Texas, and Charles and Rachel Creel of Palestine, Texas; brother, James Mack Redd of Friendswood, Texas; sister, Bertha Ann Johnson of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be George Creel, Robert Creel, Charlie Creel, Jeremy Creel and J.C. Creel.
