Darlene Dena Robertson
Services for Darlene Dena Robertson, 77, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at Hilltop Baptist Church, 210 Mill St., Alto. Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. at the church. Pastor Steve Goode will officiate.
Darlene was born on Nov. 11, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., to Lorenzo Clark and Dessie Zeremsky Clark. She died peacefully in her home on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2020, surrounded by family and friends.
Darlene worked at the Rusk State Hospital. She was a certified peace officer in Rusk and then retired as a correctional officer from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She loved flower gardening and working in the yard, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Etta Ryder; brother, Bruce Clark; and grandson, Nathan Gibson. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry Robertson; son Michael Clark and wife Carol of Georgia; daughter, Anne Saint of Connecticut; daughter, Teresa Burgen and husband Hank of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Norma Saint of Tennessee; daughter, Janette Lillard and husband Allen of Huntsville, Texas; son, Craig Gray of Jacksonville, Texas; daughter, Melissa Gray of Huntsville, Texas; and son, Ryan Robertson and wife Reagan of Rusk, Texas.
Darlene had 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Clark and wife Justine, of Michigan; brother, Lorenzo Clark and wife Elaine of Michigan; and sister, Shirley Carter of Georgia; as well as many nieces and nephews, family friends and honorary family members.
