Oscar Monroe Green Jr., 83, was born on Dec. 22, 1936, to the late Lucille and Oscar Green Sr. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Oscar was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He was born in New Orleans, La., but was a life-long resident of Houston and Madisonville. In his early years, he was sole proprietor of Green’s Construction. Oscar had a quick-wit and was always ready for a good time. He brought joy to anyone he encountered. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left to cherish Oscar’s memory include his five daughters, Peggy Cornelius and husband Charles of Rusk, Anita Cornelius and husband Tommy of Willis, Joycelyn Allman of Houston, Elizabeth Tom and husband David of Spring, Stephanie Ojo and husband Chris of Houston; one son, Marvin Green and husband Jim of Houston; two sisters, Catherine Wolfe and Amelia Alfonso; thirteen grandchildren: Brandt Jamail, Ann Garza, Chasity Cox, Elicia Allman, Russell Allman, Raymond Allman, Heather Green, MaKayla Green, David Green, Hailey Green, Samantha Molina, Daniel Molina, Anthony Molina; several grandchildren in-love; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Oscar is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Robinette Green; son Oscar Monroe Green III; and his daughter, Shernell Green.

Pallbearers will be Brandt Jamail, Todd Cox, Russell and Raymond Allman, Heather and David Green, Daniel and Anthony Molina.
