Carolyn Boyd, born Jan. 12, 1935, to Jesse and Mary Williamson, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was 85 years old.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Brother Jason Hoffman will officiate. Ms. Boyd will be laid to rest at Walker Chapel Cemetery in Reklaw.
Viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Carolyn and her late husband, Charles, traveled the world during his service with the U.S. Air Force. After his retirement, they continued their love of traveling, going to many places across the country. After moving to Rusk, she attended First Baptist Church where she was a member since 1994. Carolyn worked as an administrative secretary for Cherokee County Juvenile Probation, was an accomplished artist and an exceptional painter.
Ms. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Boyd; and sister and brother-in-law, Jean and JC Matlock.

Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are her children, Rebecca Hughes and husband Dennis of Rusk and David Hartzell and Michael Hartzell, both of Ft. Worth. She is also survived by grandsons, Cameron Staley and wife Amy of Oregon, Micah Staley of Rusk and Aaron Mann and wife Rachel of Flint; and great-grandchildren, Piper Bradbery, Korah Mann, Madison Staley and Zebulun Mann.
