The Cherokee County Emergency Management Office and the Cherokee County Public Health Department are collaborating and will hold the event 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at First Baptist Church-Rusk, 372 E. Fourth St., in Rusk.

Participants will be screened for COVID-19 if they are experiencing fever/chills; cough; fatigue; body aches/muscle or joint pain; shortness of breath; sore throat; headaches; nausea/vomiting/diarrhea; nasal congestion; and loss of taste/smell.

Cherokee County city and county officials have been working in coordination with the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), Texas Military Department (TMD), Regional Advisory Council (RAC), and the Texas Emergency Management Task Force (EMTF).
