John H. Bobbitt

John H. Bobbitt, 80, of Weches, Texas, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. John had been battling cancer and had recently retired as president and general manager of Elastotech Southwest in Crockett, Texas. He was born July 9, 1939 in Weches.

“He had a nature you could not help loving,

And a heart that was purer than gold,

And to those who knew him and loved him,

His memory will never grow cold,

His helping hand was always first,

To render any aid he could,

His voice was always raised in praise,

For each and every one,

His words were wise and good.

“Dear One, since you’ve gone away,

The ones you loved so true,

Will carry on the way,

We know you’d want them to,

Until we meet again,

Your Loving Wife, Ruth.”

John was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorothy Pyle Bobbitt; brothers, Charlie Bobbitt and Jerry Ray Bobbitt; son, Clay Bobbitt; grandson, Jon Clay Bobbitt; and stepson, John Truesdale. He is survived by his wife, Ruth T. Bobbitt; daughter, Caron Poston of Pflugerville, Texas; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Tish and Tony Simmons of Tyler, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Lee and Linda Bobbitt of Weches; sister, Barbara and Billy Peterson of Cleburne, Texas; granddaughters, Christal Hagan and Lexi Simmons; great-grandson, Cole Bobbitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Weches Cemetery or Weches Volunteer Fire Department.
