by Josie Fox

During a press conference held on Friday, Mar. 27 officials from Smith County issued a two week stay-at-home order as COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Tyler and Smith County. Of the 27 confirmed cases in Smith County, 24 of those are in Tyler.

Officials stress that during this time, in order to slow down the spread of the virus, residents are asked to stay home and to practice social distancing. This order is coming shortly after Gregg County also issued a stay-at-home order for their residents.

Additional information will be provided as it is received.
