Bobby “Daddy Bob” Sanford

Bobby “Daddy Bob” Sanford was born August 4, 1941, in Blackjack, to Sherrod and Inez Sanford. He entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 1.

A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. He will be laid to rest at Holleyman’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation with the Sanford family will begin on Tuesday, March 3, and friends are cordially invited from 6- 8 p.m., at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Texas.

Bobby was well known in the pipeline industry. He started his career at Brown and Root then went on to work at CRC Evans as well as others. Over the span of 50 years, Bobby worked in five continents. He was a member of Holleyman’s Chapel Missonary Baptist Church in Maydelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Sanford; daughter, Kim Collins; grandsons, Zachary Dodd and baby Sanford; brother, Sammy Sanford; and sister, Wanda Sanford.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shell Sanford and wife Tonya of Jacksonville, Brenda Dodd and husband Paul of Rusk, Lisa McKnight and husband Shane of Gallatin, Wendy Tullis and husband Joey of Jacksonville; Sherry Sanford of Jacksonville; sister, Maxine Shippey of Dallas; son-in-law, Michael Collins of Rusk; and sister-in-law, Joyce Sanford of Tyler. “Daddy Bob” is also survived by 17 grandchildren -- Brady Lawson, Bryanth Lawson, Bobby Shell Sanford II, Skyler Dodd, Katelyn Dodd, Houston Dickerson, Jerrod Dickerson, Alyssa “Cricket” Koop, Colton McKnight, Tristan Collins, Odessa Collins, Kyle Tullis, Karli Novander, Raya Sanford, River Tullis, Josie Tullis and Jaden Tullis; 10 great-grandchildren -- Tagen Sanford, Bristol Koop, Easton Koop, Iris Koop, Pyper Lawson, Braddock Lawson, Maverick Lawson, Brayden Novander, Mason Novander and Kasen McKnight; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brady Lawson, Bryanth Lawson, Bobby Sanford, Colton McKnight, Kyle Tullis, Skyler Dodd, Tristan Collins, River Tullis, Houston Dickerson and Jerrod Dickerson. Honorary pallbearers are Tagen Sanford, Braddock Lawson, Maverick Lawson, Brayden Novander, Mason Novander, Easton Koop and Kasen McKnight.
