ACLU brings lawsuit against Rusk, Wells and additional East Texas cities

The cities of Rusk and Wells have been named in a national lawsuit that’s challenging the cities’ recent ordinances declaring the municipalities as ‘sanctuary cities for the unborn.’

According to a release from the organization, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Texas and the ACLU National filed a lawsuit earlier this week against Rusk, Wells and five other East Texas cities that questions the legalities of ordinances that prohibit abortion providers and advocates from operating within their city limits.
