Potter seeking Tax Assessor-Collector seat

February 19, 2020

Hello citizens of Cherokee County.

My name is Shonda McCutcheon Potter. I am running for the office of Cherokee County Tax Assessor-Collector.

I started my career in the Cherokee County Tax Office in 1994 and grew to love what the job entailed. I became Chief Deputy in 1999 and completed my Professional County Collector certification in March 2013.

I have been in the Rusk tax office for 25 years, working in every department of the office. Some of my duties have included preparing tax rolls; communicating with commissioners; and keeping myself and the staff current on legislative updates.

I have helped and continue to train all the employees at the Rusk office and have assisted at the two sub-stations in Jacksonville in Alto.

I will be a full time tax assessor-collector and will work hard for the taxpayers and residents of Cherokee County.

These years of experience have given me knowledge to be the best candidate for the taxpayers and residents of Cherokee County.

I appreciate your support and your vote. Please remember to vote POTTER.

Early voting will be Tuesday, Feb. 18-Friday, Feb. 28. Election day is Tuesday, March 3.

Thank you and God bless you and your family.
