UPDATE: Rusk public pool opening date pushed back

Due to continuing repairs, the Rusk swimming pool’s opening has been postponed until further notice.

City. officials said Tuesday, June 4, they hope to open the facility within the next week.

Keep watching the Cherokeean Herald’s website and Facebook page to find out when the pool will open for the summer.

Once open, pool hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays; and 1-8 p.m. Sundays. Hours are subject to change due to weather or private parties.

Admission is $3 at the gate for the day, and pool Administrator Lori Nielson reports the facility is featuring something new this year.

“We’re offering a 10-punch card for $25, which reduces admission to $2.50 per day and a 30-punch card for $60, reducing it to $2 a day,” Nielson said. “The punch cards are good for 10 and 30 entrances -- buy a punch card and don’t worry about having cash on you all the time!”
