James Earl Lusk

James Earl Lusk, 76, passed away on May 1, 2024 in Houston, TX. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Sardis Edgefield Cemetery, in Sardis, Texas close to Rusk.

James was born August 17, 1947 to parents Floyd and Verdie Lusk in Rusk, Texas. He graduated from Rusk High School class of 1965. He later was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War. James loved working on cars and could usually be found under the hood of a car.

James was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Verdie Lusk; brothers Floyd and R.L. Lusk; brothers-in-law Louis Moore, and Dennis Hughey.

He is survived by his son Keith Lusk; daughter Alisha and her husband Josh Walton, daughter Teresa and her husband Sean Palmer. Grandchildren: Russell Wahop, Abigail and Stephen Walton, and Zach, Marisa, and Elijah Palmer; sisters Dorothy Hughey and Betty Moore; sisters-in-law Betty Lusk and Mitzi Lusk; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Rusk, TX.
